An 11-year-old boy who was described as "critically missing" was found safe Friday, Milwaukee police said.

The boy had been last seen at 5 p.m. Thursday near 33rd Street and St. Paul Avenue. Police issued a media alert about the case at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Critically missing is a label police use for missing people who may be especially vulnerable. All children are described as critically missing if they're 11 years old or younger, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.

Police haven't yet released information regarding the circumstances that led to his disappearance.
