Milwaukee police are investigating an early morning Thursday crash that sent two officers to the hospital.

The crash happened near the intersection of Fond du Lac Avenue and Locust Street.

Police said a car rear-ended a squad car carrying a 43-year-old office and a 45-year-old officer just before 2:15 a.m.

The 33-year-old driver of the vehicle that struck the squad car was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

The two officers were also taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Milwaukee police said the driver of the vehicle wasn't arrested, but was cited for a license violation.
