The Milwaukee Air & Water Show, one of the city's biggest summer attractions, already has its 2024 dates — and some of its headliners, including the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.

The Thunderbirds and the rest of the air and water show will return to Milwaukee July 27-28 along the lakefront north of downtown, organizers announced Thursday. The dates overlap with another big summer event: The 2024 Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival is scheduled for July 25-28.

It'll be the Thunderbirds' first appearance at the Milwaukee air show since 2019.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds perform a routine over Bradford Beach during the 2019 Milwaukee Air & Water Show. The Thunderbirds will headline the 2024 air show above Milwaukee's lakefront.

Also booked for the 2024 Milwaukee Air & Water Show are the U.S. Army Parachute Team, better known as the Golden Knights, back after a six-year absence; and the Frecce Tricolori ("Tricolor Arrows"), the official aerobatic team of the Italian Air Force, making its first appearance at the show.

WaterStone Bank is also returning as title sponsor for the Milwaukee Air & Water Show.

Tickets are not yet available for the 2024 air show. Look for updates on the event's website: mkeairwatershow.com.

The air show's dates add to an already busy July for Milwaukee. In addition to the air show and the Harley festival, there'll be the final weekend of Summerfest, July 4-6; the Republican National Convention July 15-18, and German Fest, July 26-28.
